As part of its continuing efforts to reinforce the wall of immunity against COVID-19, Pangasinan State University-Lingayen Campus partnered with the Department of Health (DoH) and Rural Health Unit (RHU) 1 in administering the second vaccination activity on September 9, at the Don Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall.
Sharing DoHโs commitment to a stronger booster vaccination campaign through โPinasLakasโ, PSUโs Medical-Dental Services Unit led by Dr. Christia Marie P. Flores and Lingayen Campusโ Executive Director, Dr. Randy Joy M. Ventayen ramped up the number of inoculated teaching and non-teaching personnel alongside their relatives counting off to 89 vaccinees with first and second booster dose.
To recall, PSU and Pangasinan Provincial Health Office jointly conducted the first in-campus vaccination drive on March 18, with more than 60 workforce vaccinees following the anticipated limited face-to-face then.
The much-needed COVID-19 booster inoculation is one crucial way to protect employees, through a strengthened immune system, from the lurking health dangers of the virus and its emerging variants.
โThis activity aims to encourage our community to avail of the booster shots to be fully protected from the virus. We will continue to coordinate with offices and agencies to ensure that majority of PSUnians get boosters. Dahil sa PSU, sabay-sabay tayong babangon sa pandemyang ito, โ Dr. Flores said.
PSUnians shall expect sustained measures to fight back against the virus and guarantee the safety of all, even more with the return to face-to-face classes.
โAs the pandemic catchphrase says, โTogether, we can get the job done by getting the jab doneโ this booster vaccination serves as an assurance to students that their return to the classroom is well-thought-out and systematically planned. This simply means students can worry less and march on in full steam to learning, โ Dr. Ventayen underscored.
Said activity coincides with the recently released CMO No. 09 s. 2022 Updated Memorandum Guidelines on the Implementation of Face-to-Face Classes to Prevent and Mitigate COVID-19 Infections.
