The Pangasinan State University (PSU) recently celebrated its 45th anniversary with a heartwarming event that brought together its entire community. Instead of formal ceremonies, PSU opted for a simple yet meaningful “salu-salo,” a traditional Filipino communal feast, held across all its campuses.

The day was filled with the aroma of delicious home-cooked meals, laughter, and shared stories as PSU Lingayen and Main Campus commemorated the anniversary. Each department contributed to the feast, creating a diverse and flavorful spread that reflected the university’s rich tapestry of cultures and backgrounds.

University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, known for his approachable nature, personally visited each table in the Techvoc and Grand Legacy Building, taking the time to express his gratitude to every PSUnian for their dedication and contributions to the University’s success. He emphasized that PSU’s journey from humble beginnings to a prestigious institution was a testament to the collective efforts of its entire community. Adding to the celebratory mood, the announcement of an Anniversary Bonus for all PSUnians was met with cheers and smiles. The incentive serves as a tangible reminder of the university’s appreciation for its hardworking workforce.

The “salu-salo” was more than just a meal; it was a symbol of unity and shared purpose. Whether enjoying a boodle fight, a samgyup feast, or a catered meal, PSUnians, regardless of their position or status, dined together, forging stronger bonds and celebrating the university’s legacy.

The 45th Anniversary “salu-salo” was a powerful reminder of the enduring spirit of PSU, a community united by a shared commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and service.
