A historic moment happened last July 4, 2024 as DOST-Philippine Textile Research Institute and Pangasinan State University forged a transformative Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at Malacañang of the North, Paoay, Ilocos Norte.

This collaboration promises to propel advancements in research and education, and to provide training and technical assistance that can bring us closer to our shared goals of innovation and societal impact particularly in bamboo textile fiber technology. Dr. Elbert M. Galas, University President; Dr. Renato E. Salcedo, PSU LC Campus Executive and Project Leader; Dr. Caren Orlanda-Ventayen, Coordinator for International Linkages and Project Leader; and Prof. Vladimir Marie E. Cabutotan, Coordinator for Special Projects were present in the signing of the MOA.

Their dedication and expertise were pivotal in shaping this partnership and inspiring confidence in a future filled with possibilities. As we embark on this journey together, we celebrate not only the signing of the MOA but also the beginning of a new chapter in fostering knowledge exchange and technological advancement in bamboo textile.

With gratitude and anticipation, we look forward to the fruitful collaborations and breakthroughs that will emerge from this synergistic alliance. Here’s to building a brighter tomorrow through innovation and cooperation in the bamboo industry.
