Pangasinan State University has released Office Advisory No. 189, Series 2025 to implement preemptive measures in anticipation of Tropical Cyclone FUNG-WONG (pre-UWAN). This important directive, approved by University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas, places the safety and well-being of every member of the PSU Communityโincluding all students, faculty, and staffโas the absolute foremost priority.
The core precautionary measure is the directive for classes on Monday, November 10, 2025, to be conducted in asynchronous mode. This move ensures that students do not need to travel or attend physical classes, mitigating risk from high rainfall and elevated areas as the typhoon approaches. Faculty members are directed to utilize reliable online platforms to provide learning materials and class instructions, simultaneously observing a work-from-home arrangement during the typhoon’s expected impact.
In a strong move to ensure preparedness, students are advised to immediately return to their respective homes at the soonest possible time to allow them to make necessary safety preparations.
The safety of all, from students to faculty and non-teaching personnel, remains the universityโs utmost concern, and this advisory is subject to being superseded by mandatory government issuances on the suspension of classes.
