Pangasinan State University bagged the “Best Technology Pitch” at the 3rd DOST-PCAARRD Technology Commercialization Mentorship Series on May 28, 2021.
Capping off the event through a test of skills earned, the 3rd DOST-PCAARD Pitch Days convened participants in a battle to formulate the best pitch by presenting a proposed product/service to potential investors. Included in the criteria for judging is the 60 % content (value proposition, target market, competitive advantage, price, and cost), and 40% delivery (fourth grade-level language, diction in technical words, enthusiasm).
PSU’s pitch team is represented by equally brilliant researchers: Mr. Christian Thom Tabisola, Mr. Jameson Estrada, Mr. Cyril Domingo, Mr. Carlos Manuel Abalos. Mr. Cliff Ervin David, and Mr. Joshua Reyes, and the mavens of Food and Innovation Center, supervised by Dr. Catalina Platon (Head, Innovation Support) concocted their winning piece “BB Oil”, a bottled milkfish oil and fermented shrimp sauce.
The mentorship series concluded through a graduation ceremony for participants who successfully completed the required five modules which constitute a total of 160 hours of intensive training. Mr. Jameson Estrada and Mr. Christian Thom Tabisola, instructors of PSU Lingayen and inventors of ‘BB Oil’, were among the newly-gilded catalysts in the field.
The Technology Commercialization Mentorship Series comprise the sixty technology transfer researchers of “Support to the University’s Strategies in Technology Acceleration Initiatives by Nurturing (SUSTAIN) the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IP-TBM) Offices of the Consortia Member Agencies- Phase II”, a project funded by the Department of Science and Technology- Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development.
